What gives you direction in life?
There’s always a plan. Or at least, the idea of one. The timelines we set, the expectations we try to meet. Both the ones we place on ourselves and the ones the world hands to us.
It feels good to map everything out clearly and imagine how it will all unfold but as we all know, life doesn’t always go according to plan.
Even the most carefully arranged paths develop cracks because the truth is, the direction of life is not always simple. It’s layered, unpredictable, and sometimes confusing.
So what I’ve learned to do is hold on to one mindset: the constant belief that tomorrow will be better than today.
Everything I do rests on that simple belief that things won’t always stay the same. That with time, they will improve. Not magically, and not without effort, but through dedication, through consistency, through prayers, and through choosing to stay open-minded, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Some days, that belief feels strong and steady. Other days, it’s barely there; just a small, stubborn hope I hold on to. Even then, it’s enough. Enough to try again. Enough to keep moving. Enough to trust that where I am now is not where I’ll always be.
At the end of the day, I don’t have all the answers but I hold on to this simple.
Somehow, that makes it easier to keep going.
