November always sneaks up on us. One minute it’s the middle of the year, and the next, the calendar is almost out of pages. Everyone seems to be wrapping up projects, counting goals, or pretending to do something but in between it all, there’s still life. The kind that doesn’t pause just because the year is almost done.
For me, November sits somewhere between calm and chaos. The days blur into each other. Trains to catch, rooms to tidy, deadlines to chase, and meals that somehow appear without a plan. Some mornings, I wake up ready to face everything with energy while other days, I spend the first ten minutes negotiating with my alarm like it owes me peace.
Work spills into home, home spills into work, and in the middle of it all, I’m just trying to stay steady. It’s not the kind of balance that looks graceful but feels like the kind that involves reheating coffee twice, forgetting what I was about to say, and finding contentment in crossing one thing off my to-do list.
Sometimes I think balance isn’t a thing that can be found rather it’s something you build while everything else is still moving. You build it through choices no one sees: replying to one more message when you’d rather not, achieving a goal you thought was impossible, resting when your brain says you can’t, choosing to laugh instead of overthinking.
Well, living abroad adds its own rhythm to my mix. There are days when everything feels beautifully in sync; the train arrives right on time, the weather matches my mood, and even the vending machine gives me the right drink. However, there are days when a simple grocery run feels like solving a riddle which are all part of this strange, fascinating blend of progress and patience we call life.
Finally, November for me isn’t about finishing strong. It’s about moving gently steady steps, full days, and knowing that showing up counts for something even when it’s not perfect. Especially when it’s not perfect.
So if this month starts feeling heavy or hurried, take a breath. You’re doing more than you think. You’re holding it all together in your own way and that counts.
Here’s to full days, more wins, and the kind of balance that looks messy but feels real.
