If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be writing children’s books and short novels, I probably would’ve laughed. Not because I didn’t love writing—I always have. In fact, I’ve been writing little notes and story ideas for as long as I can remember.
But for the longest time, that’s all they were: scribbles. Scribbles in notebooks, sticky notes, or saved drafts in my phone. I never shared them. I never thought I was really a writer. I was just someone who loved stories… quietly.
Then came 2022.
I didn’t feel ready. I didn’t have a writing degree or a step-by-step guide. But I had an idea—and something inside me finally said, “Do it anyway.” So I did. I took the risk. I wrote my first book, edited, doubted, rewrote it again and began to figure things out as I write and somehow—through the fear and the learning curve—I published it.
Was it perfect? Nope. But it was done. It was mine. And hitting “publish” for the first time felt like I had just unlocked a part of myself I’d kept hidden for years.
Since then, I’ve kept going. More children’s books. Short novels. Late-night writing sessions. Big dreams and bigger lessons. I still jot things down in my journals, but now those scribbles grow into stories that other people actually read.
So yes, it was a risk. But it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. If you’re sitting on an idea or a story of your own, this is your sign—start before you feel ready. You never know where that one step might lead.
📚 Curious about the books that came from those early scribbles? You can explore My published books. They are available on Amazon and Selar. Each story is written with heart, and I hope they bring joy to your shelf or a smile to your little one’s face.
