I could feel it from the moment Monday started that this week was going to be a long one.

It wasn’t dramatic or filled with any major surprises, but the rhythm was heavy. From the start, I knew I had to be on my toes every single day. My work requires me to stay alert, be flexible, and meet deadlines back-to-back. There’s rarely room to slow down, and this week was no exception.

Each morning felt like a marathon. Wake up, get ready, and dive straight into task after task. Sometimes, It felt like as soon as I completed one thing, something else was already waiting. It wasn’t overwhelming in a chaotic way, but it was just constant. It’s the kind of week where you don’t have time to catch your breath.

By Wednesday, I was already fantasizing about Friday. I wasn’t looking forward to any party or outing. I just wanted time to myself. Needed to find  a quiet space where I didn’t have to respond to anything or anyone. Where I could breathe.

So here I am, finally in my weekend bubble.

No plans, no expectations, just the comfort of being at home, eating something I actually enjoy, like fried spicy chicken, watching Korean drama on Netflix without watching the clock, and sleeping in my bed in peace. That’s all I need right now.

Sometimes, getting through a long week is only possible when you know you’ll give yourself time to recharge at the end of it. And this weekend, that’s exactly what I’m doing.

A little reminder that sometimes the best plan for the weekend is no plan at all.

How do you unwind after a long week?
