A year ago, I was drowning in self-doubt. I questioned every decision I made, second-guessed my abilities, and felt like I was constantly falling short; both in my personal life and career. As women, we often carry the weight of expectations, whether from society, family, or even ourselves. I was no exception.

I remember sitting in front of my laptop, staring at a blank screen, wondering if my words mattered. Would anyone care? Was I even good enough to share my thoughts and experiences? Every time I tried to take a step forward, fear pulled me two steps back. What if I failed? What if people judged me? What if I wasn’t as capable as I thought?

But then something changed. I realized that self-doubt would always be there if I allowed it to take root. I made a choice to silence the voice that told me I wasn’t enough and to start believing in my own journey. I reminded myself that growth often comes from discomfort. So, I started writing. I started sharing. I started trusting myself.

Some days were harder than others, but little by little, things shifted. I took risks, some paid off, and some didn’t but each step forward built my confidence. I learned that failure wasn’t an ending but a redirection. I discovered strength in places I never thought to look within myself, my close community, and the small victories that once felt insignificant.

Today, I stand in a different reality. My career has taken a turn for the better, my self-worth is no longer tied to external validation, and I have cultivated relationships that uplift rather than drain me. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it.

If you feel stuck, remember this: a lot can change in one year. Growth isn’t always loud; sometimes, it’s in the quiet moments of choosing yourself over and over again.

What has changed for you in the past year? Share your story; I’d love to hear it.
